Episode 105 with ultrarunner Daniel Jones: How a pro prepares for the iconic Western States 100

In this week’s episode we talk to professional ultrarunner, Daniel Jones, about:

  • How he got into adventure racing and ultrarunning
  • His experience at Bryce Canyon Ultra
  • How he is preparing to toe the line at Western States

Dan Jones is a trail athlete from New Zealand, where competitiveness and a love of the outdoors was ingrained into him. He had a well-rounded approach to sport growing up, but multisport – and eventually running – was what he became passionate about. With this passion he spent five years of intense cross country and track racing in the United States, and when he returned to New Zealand, he went back to his roots of multisport, racing competitively and achieving top results in both the New Zealand and China multisport circuits. But he found his way back to marathon and ultra marathon running, and is now a professional runner with adidas TERREX, racing internationally.
