A hearty breakfast option for the fiber and protein maximalist that is easy to prep in advance
Ingredients
This recipe is built to scale. Making 4-8 portions at a time is handy and takes no more time than making one.
Dry Ingredients:
- 25g Quick Cook Oats
- 25g Oat Bran
- 1.5 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- 10g PBFit Peanut Butter Powder
- 1 scoop Dymatize Elite Casein Protein Powder, Vanilla (or similar)
- 1/4 tsp Ceylon Cinnamon
Wet Ingredients:
- 1/2 C Oat Milk (Minor Figures Organic is best)
- 1/2 C Water
Directions
- Scale the recipe as needed (I use the Paprika app on iOS/Mac to manage recipes, which makes it easy to scale)
- Pour the wet ingredients into a large crock pot or similar
- Set the liquid to boil on high while you prep the dry ingredients
- Weigh and mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl
- When the liquid is just starting to boil, pour in the dry ingredients
- Whisk or stir the dry ingredients quickly to avoid clumping
- Stir constantly while the mixture is at a boiling temperature for a minute or two
- Reduce to a simmer and slowly stir to avoid burning on the bottom of the pan
- Cook for 5ish additonal minutes, until the Chia Seeds look plump. Add water as needed while cooking to maintain a stirrable consistency
- When finished cooking, remove from heat and portion out each serving into a half-quart deli container
- Refrigerate for several days as needed
- To reheat, plop the tasty solidified glop into a bowl. Break up the mass into chunks with a spoon and pour an ounce or three of oat milk on top. Reheat in the microwave until hot (3 minutes on mine). Once removed, stir the mixture with the oat milk to regain the original silky consistency
- Add berries or nuts as desired
